La musique ne connaît pas de frontières et unit
In the past year, they have actively collaborated on project meetings. This collaborative effort represents a multi-year journey of mutual growth and development of music on both sides of the border. It contributes to the original and high-quality cultural program of the European Capital of Culture 2025 (Nova Gorica/Gorizia). Young musicians from both bands, driven by similar desires for musical involvement and personal development, will showcase their joint concert.
In Slovenia, the 42nd Summer Festival of Young Bands and Musicians (Musica creativa) is taking place. The story dates back to 1972 when the Association of Wind Orchestras of Slovenia was established. Even then, the association organized seminars for conductors and regional competitions. In 1979, they organized the first camp for wind orchestras in Ljutomer. This camp aimed to provide additional education for musicians and conductors. Over the years, the camp's program has gained quality, enabling the refinement of orchestral performance under the guidance of experienced conductors and the exploration of world wind music literature. Since 2003, the upper age limit for participants has been set at 25, allowing for more focused and effective education. This project fulfills the main mission of the Association – promoting and educating young musicians and enabling their growth and development from their basic education in various music schools to their involvement in Slovenian wind bands and orchestras.
This year, between August 20th and 26th, two youth wind orchestras will perform, consisting of 153 musicians from 50 wind orchestras. As part of Musice Creative, three concert events will be held, all of which will be livestreamed on Facebook.

In Italy, the 18-year tradition of Campus MusicaInsieme continues: Over 1750 young people have participated year after year in this music workshop, which has been steadily gaining success. The 2023 Campus edition will be a source of energy for 160 young musicians from 33 bands in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region. They will be the center of attention during the week in Piani di Luzza. The music they will study in-depth will include three specially arranged pieces for wind orchestras, to be played for the first time by one of the bands. Among these pieces is "Salve Invicta Juditha Formosa" from Vivaldi's opera "Juditha Triumphans Devicta Holofernis Barbarie," written in 1716 to celebrate the reconquest of Corfu. Anbima FVG is the largest Italian association uniting music bands with the aim of promoting associationism and cultural voluntary work to spread music. In its regional context, Anbima FVG unites 95 amateur bands with around 5,000 volunteer members. Their primary task is to provide musical training to members, particularly young people.
The Youth Regional Band of Anbima FVG is a continually evolving project. Founded in 2006, it has seen increasing numbers of members and gained national and international recognition. The band consists of over 120 young people between the ages of 10 and 23, who refine their musical abilities through group music, resulting in a lively and brilliant ensemble. The band has achieved multiple recordings and collaborations, contributing to the regional and international music scene.
