European Championship of Bohemian-Moravian Brass Music 2023
The 22nd European Championship of Bohemian-Moravian Brass Music will take place in 2023 as part of BRAWO on November 25 in Stuttgart. Since 2000, the European Championships have been initiated by the Confédération Internationale des Sociétés Musicales (CISM), the international music association, and have so far also taken place in Austria, Switzerland, Slovakia, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic and Italy. 12 orchestras with groups of 6-30 musicians from Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Belgium will compete against each other. The judging will be conducted by three CISM-approved judges.
The orchestras and bands compete in three different groups:
Small groups of 6–11 players
Groups of 12–25 players
Brass bands with 26 or more players
The evaluation is carried out in 4 performance levels:
Maximum level ("H")
High School ("O")
Intermediate ("M")
Lower Level ("U")
The title of European Champion can be awarded at any level. However, for this to happen, it is necessary to achieve at least 92 points in the maximum level, 91 points in the upper level and 90 points in the intermediate and lower levels. In addition to the approx. 30-minute competition entry, the participating orchestras will then give a one-hour concert as part of the BRAWO wind orchestra fair.
At the European Championships of Bohemian-Moravian Brass Music, 12 orchestras with group sizes of 6-30 musicians from Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Belgium compete against each other. The judging will be conducted by three CISM-approved judges.
